The Beach Boys were a popular American rock band founded in 1961 at Hawthorne, California. The band consisted of three brothers, a cousin, and a friend namely Brian Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Carl Wilson, Mike Love, and Al Jardine. The Wilsons’ father Murry managed the group. Brian was the songwriter of the group as well as the producer, leader, musical arranger and composer.

In 1962 they signed a contract from Capitol Records and most of their debut singles such as Surfin’ Safari, Surfer Girl, Surfin’ USA, Little Deuce Coupe, Fun Fun Fun, Be True to Your School, California Girls, I Get Around and many more have been included in the top 40 billboard charts. It was also because of these songs that they have become popular in the international scene. Their harmonious voice and breezy records attracted so many fans that Rolling Stone Magazine ranked them at 12th in the 100 Greatest Artist of All Time in 2004, making them the highest ranked rock band. They have sold over a hundred million albums worldwide and all the band members were inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.

They continued to make music and perform in public until the deaths of Dennis Wilson in 1983 and Carl Wilson in 1998. However, they have announced that they will be reuniting in June 5, 2012 to launch their new album entitled That’s Why God Made the Radio.
