Black Sabbath is a legendary rock band that was founded and formed in Aston, Birmingham on 1969. The original members are Ozzy Osbourne on vocals, Geezer Butler on bass, Tony Iommi on lead guitars, and Bill Ward on drums. Their horror and occult inspired music has offended a lot of people back in the seventies but it is for this very reason why the band became all the more popular.

Thousands of people all over the world became their fans as they sang hard rock about drugs, alcohol, social imbalance, political corruption, apocalypse, horrendous prophecies about the future, and the disgusting elements of war and death. They are the first band that braved the music industry with their horror themed lyrics and dark music making them one of the most controversial bands of all time.

This has made them the groundbreakers of heavy metal and for the first time in music history, the genre was finally recognized and clearly defined by them through releasing a series of albums that achieved platinum awards, particularly Paranoid, which has received quadruple platinum in the 70’s.

MTV marked them as the greatest metal band of all time, VH1 ranked them second, next to Led Zepplin in 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, while the Rolling Stone labeled them as the heavy metal kings of the seventies. It was in 2006 when the band was inducted at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are still active today with numerous live performances and world tours.
